Is there a train from Chicago to Duluth?
Is there train travel from Chicago to Duluth? - June, Chicago
I sure wish there was a train — lots of people do. Various counties and rail authorities are working on resuming
passenger service between St. Paul and Duluth, which was discontinued in 1985. They even have a name for the line: the
Northern Lights Express. But it'll be years before
anything is finished.
It happens that the National Railway Historical Society is convening in Duluth this year, and it's offering the public seats on passenger trains from the Twin Cities to Duluth Aug. 11 and back on Aug. 16. Round-trip tickets are $199, $299 and $349.
For now, that's the only train to Duluth.
