New places to eat in Hayward? We've been to Hayward many times, and will be there again next week. We love the "usual" eateries, but how about new restaurants we can try? Thank you! - Sandy, Minneapolis
This is from Cindy and Kent York of Falcon Heights, Minn., who often spend weekends in Hayward:
We suggest The Pavillion on Main St. You can enjoy small plates, entrees, and/or desserts. The real treat, however, is on weekends when Molly Otis and her band perform on the "Danger Stage", a narrow ledge overlooking the intimate restaurant. The beer list is fairly good, but wines are the specialty here. The Pavillion also houses a nice gift shop and Molly's retail wine shop called the Wine Cave. It's a great place to go for dinner and stay for the evening.
Another recently reopened spot is the Fireside, a few miles outside of town. You can expect a comfortable supper club atmosphere with much better than the usual "up north" cuisine. Although we were there on a quiet night late last summer, we were encouraged to relax and enjoy our meal. Both food and service made it worth the trip!
