Looking for Amish near Alexandria

My family and I are spending a week in Alexandria, MN. My 10 year old daughter is interested in seeing an Amana Colony, their furniture, crafts, etc. from watching a movie recently- Saving Sarah??? I was wondering if there is anyplace near Alexandria we could tour when we are there? Any information would be appreciated. - Sherry, Alta, Iowa

There's an Amish community half an hour east of Alexandria in Long Prairie (I think you want the Amish; the people in the Amana Colonies of eastern Iowa aren't really Amish). It looks as if there are tours you can take: www.longprairie.org/tourism/tours.html
